Late Summer Bass Fishing | Lake Minnetonka

Updated: May 31, 2022

When you think August, you think deep weeds for bass. Generally, that is the case, but this year seems to be different.

Our most consistent bite has been 16ft of water or less. That doesn’t mean one won’t find schools of bass on deep weed lines or rocks in 20+ ft of water.

We still will target a few of those areas but our most consistent bite has been in the weeds slow dragging jig worms.

We’ve been using all sorts of different styles and sizes from 8” worms to ned rigs all have caught fish but the best for us has been 5” worms or smaller in darker colors.
